Frequently Asked Questions:

Expand All:
What does “Kaab El Ghazal” mean?

“Kaab El Ghazal” translates to “Gazelle’s Ankle” or “Gazelle Horns” in Arabic, referring to the pastry’s elegant, curved shape.

Can I use pre-ground almonds or almond flour?

Yes, you can use almond flour, but the texture will be finer than using freshly ground blanched almonds. Traditional recipes usually grind whole almonds for a more rustic texture.

Can I substitute orange blossom water?

If you don't have orange blossom water, you can use rose water for a slightly different but still traditional floral note. However, orange blossom water gives the most authentic Moroccan flavor.
